Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray your baking pan with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Melt the butter and 1 1/3 cups of semisweet chocolate chips in a bowl, stirring until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Allow it to cool for 5-7 minutes.
- Whisk in the granulated sugar, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Incorporate the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and kosher salt in a separate bowl. Gently fold this dry mixture into the wet ingredients.
- Fold in the remaining chocolate chips.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan. Top generously with Valentine's Day M&M's.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the brownies completely in the pan. Cut into heart shapes or squares to serve.
