- In a mixing bowl, cream the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and sea salt for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Pour in the beaten eggs and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour and red gel food coloring. Stir until a smooth dough forms.
- Wrap your dough in plastic wrap and chill it in the fridge for about 2 hours.
- After chilling, roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
- Press a smaller heart-shaped cutter into the center of each shape, then fill with crushed hard candy.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are golden brown.
- Let your cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
