How to Make Slow Cooker Spare Ribs
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, Chinese five spice powder, brown sugar, red pepper flakes, minced garlic, ground ginger, and red food coloring, if desired.
- Cut the spare ribs between the bones into manageable pieces. Place them in the slow cooker and pour the marinade over, ensuring they are well coated.
- Set the slow cooker to low heat and let it work its magic for about 6 hours.
- Once cooked, carefully remove the ribs and place them onto a baking sheet. Combine cornstarch with a few tablespoons of liquid from the slow cooker, then baste this mixture over the ribs.
- Broil the ribs in your oven for 5-6 minutes, keeping a close eye on them.
- Finally, sprinkle your luscious ribs with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a touch of crunch and color.

Notes
For optimal freshness, wrap the ribs tightly in plastic wrap before placing them in the container or bag to prevent freezer burn.
