Preparation
- Chop your Bartlett pears until smooth. Use either a knife or a blender for a silky texture that will infuse your drink with pure pear flavor.
- Combine the chopped pears, organic sugar, water, and vanilla syrup in a saucepan. Heat on medium until it reaches a boil.
- Simmer this mixture for 5-8 minutes until the liquid turns amber and the pears break down into syrup.
- Strain the mixture into a container using a fine mesh sieve. Let it cool before you use it in the cocktail.
- Mix 1 ½ oz of gin with 2 tablespoons of your pear vanilla syrup in a glass. Give it a gentle stir.
- Add soda water to the glass and stir gently again, then top with crushed ice.
