How to Make Heart Cookies
- Cream butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until smooth and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition followed by the vanilla extract and salt.
- Mix in all-purpose flour gradually until fully incorporated.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick and cut out cookies.
- Chill the cut cookies on the baking sheet for 20 minutes before baking.
- Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
- Melt the semisweet chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring in 30-second intervals until smooth.
- Dip half of each cookie into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off.
- Sprinkle with Valentine's Day sprinkles immediately after dipping and let them set on a wire rack.
- Optional: Drizzle some melted white chocolate over the cookies after they have set.

Notes
Ensure butter is softened for better creaming. Avoid overmixing after adding flour to keep cookies tender. Allow baked cookies to cool completely before dipping to prevent chocolate from melting into the cookie.
