How to Make Fettuccine Alfredo
  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook fettuccine until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  2. Drain the pasta and keep it warm covered while preparing the sauce.
  3. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
  4. Sauté minced garlic in the melted butter for 1-2 minutes, being careful not to brown it.
  5. Add heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer for about 3 minutes.
  6. Gradually stir in grated parmesan cheese until melted smoothly into the sauce.
  7. Toss the pasta in the sauce, seasoning with garlic pepper and salt to taste.
  8. Serve hot, topped with additional parmesan if desired.
