  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract

  • 1 bottle Food coloring various colors
  • 2 cups Powdered sugar

Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk together the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until well combined.
  4. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  5. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface to about ¼ inch thick. Cut into light bulb shapes using cookie cutters.
  6. Bake in your preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool before decorating.
