Making the Cookies
- Cream together the sugar and softened unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
- Combine the milk, vanilla extract, and large egg into the creamed mixture and mix until well-blended.
- Sift and mix the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda) in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough is chilling.
- Roll out the chilled dough to about ¼ inch thickness and cut out cookies using a heart-shaped cutter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 9-10 minutes and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
- Frost cooled cookies with pink frosting and sprinkle colorful toppings.
