Method
 

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
  2. Toss the sliced apples with granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, optional nutmeg, flour, and lemon juice until well-coated.
  3. Spread the apple filling evenly over the crust, then place the second pie crust over top, sealing the edges.
  4. Brush the top crust with melted butter and cut small slits for venting.
  5. Bake for 35–40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Cool the pie for 20–30 minutes before glazing.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  8. Slice into bars and serve warm or at room temperature.
