  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips optional

Method
 

How to Make Banana Bread
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas until mostly smooth.
  3. Add melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract to mashed bananas and whisk until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon.
  5. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in walnuts or chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 55-65 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
