For the Topping
  • 6 slices uncooked bacon turkey bacon is a lighter option

Method
 

Preparation Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish by spraying it with non-stick spray.
  3. Sauté onions in a skillet with melted butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  4. Mix together the pork and beans, ketchup, mustard, molasses, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the sautéed onions and sprinkle the smoked paprika.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and top with bacon pieces.
  6. Bake uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes to 2 hours.
  7. Rest the dish for about 5-10 minutes before serving.
