Preparation Steps
- Preheat Oven to 300°F (150°C) or select low setting on slow cooker.
- Generously season the beef chuck roast with salt and pepper, place it in a roasting pan or slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine onion soup mix, ranch dressing mix, and brown gravy mix. Sprinkle over the roast.
- Add chopped carrots and quartered potatoes around the roast.
- Pour in beef broth or water around the roast.
- Cover tightly with aluminum foil or slow cooker lid and cook for about 4 hours in the oven or 8 hours in the slow cooker.
